The Elysia Karacter is a hardware unit produced by the company Elysia. It's known as a saturation box, designed to add warmth, depth, and character to audio signals. The Karacter is often used by musicians, producers, and sound engineers to enhance the sonic qualities of recordings. Its analog saturation and distortion processing capabilities, along with its intuitive controls, make it a versatile tool for shaping and refining sound textures. It can be subtle and it can also absolutely destroy the audio with a ‘FET’ setting and then a ‘Turbo’ setting.

With this preset pack, I decided to experiment a bit and mess with various aspects of the audio before running it through the machine learning. I wanted to introduce errors purposely to see where it would go and really dig the results. When applied lightly, you get gentle color coming in to the signal, and then it just gets more and more wrecked as you push it. It’s relatively similar to the Karacter already but has some differences. Remember, I’m here to help you add the grit and grime, so these experiments will be often. I will be doing a more traditional pack in the near future though because I love this unit.

As I am self aware, I understand that that isn’t as appealing as the clean and proper presets, so they will be sold for less than the clean and propers. My goal is to create completely new sounds through experimentation and this is the first set in that journey. Hope you enjoy the destruction.
